What is the National Roundtable on Rural Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship (MEEJR)?

The MEEJR is a platform for dialogue and collaboration between rural youth organizations from Colombia's 32 departments, together with public and private sector entities and universities. Its objective is to promote development, employability, and entrepreneurship among rural youth.

What is the purpose of the MEEJR?

The MEEJR seeks to overcome structural challenges that affect the active participation of rural youth in their own development. These challenges include low incidence in public policies, lack of organizational capacities, inequalities in rural activities, and the need for strategies to strengthen youth entrepreneurship.

How can I get involved with MEEJR?

You can get involved by participating in events, collaborating in employability and entrepreneurship programs, contributing to educational and environmental initiatives, or joining one of the lines of work led by trained and committed young people.

What benefits does the MEEJR offer rural youth?

The MEEJR offers training opportunities, access to resources for entrepreneurship, educational programs, employability support, opportunities for participation, and skills development for sustainable project management in rural environments.

What are the MEEJR's lines of work?

The MEEJR has six lines of work: Employability, Entrepreneurship, Participation, Education, Environment, and Youth, Territory, and Peacebuilding. It also has a cross-cutting communications line that facilitates the dissemination and exchange of information among the actors involved.

What is the impact of the project “Youth: The Countryside in Motion”?

This project, supported by AICS, will directly benefit more than 5,449 rural youth linked to the MEEJR and their enterprises. Indirectly, it is expected to impact an additional 17,545 people, contributing to a total of 22,994 beneficiaries.
